32Xulator Development team. Eek - Shelbaok@gorilla.net Dekko - dekko@juno.com INFO ON THE 32X EMULATION PROCESS -by Eek 1. This is how i see the emulator 68k | | |-->32x reader-->Hitachi chip-->Rom Reader | | Z80 2. The 32x's capabilites and dealing with them. 50,000 polygons a second. first of all, the quake engine can handle 5x as much with no problem... there shouldn't be a problem here. 40 million instructions a second. even low end pentiums acheive 50 million. 17.6 million colors. (SVGA ONLY) not a problem. 3. SPEED The total emulator should be written in assembley or c++ that has been converted to assembley. this should give it sufficent speed. If not, frame skipping will be inplemented. 4. SOUND Heres the really tricky part. the sound runs off the 68k, gen sound chip, hitachi processors, and the 32x stereo chip (unknown type.)
