The "if they existed, they'd be on here" is placed as follows: Any questions, comments, suggestions, donations, provocations, and speculations go to typhoonz@parodius.com! I will not answer mail concerning the locations of pirated software. Furthermore, I have provided an Emulation Starters Guide, and a ROM site list that should prove useful if you have questions concerning this. I will also NOT answer email about Intellivision, or other emulators (especially for 32 and 64 bit systems. Trust me, if they existed, they'd be on here). Finally, I will not answer mail on backup units or copiers. I do not support copiers, and do not own any. That is unedited and from my site. The "Trust me" line is in the parenthesis referring to Playstation, Saturn, Jaguar, and Nintendo 64 emulators. I mentioned that Intellivision emulators do not exist, because I cannot answer email about them since I have no knowledge of anyone working with it -- well, actually, yesterday, Frogger (who is mentioned quite a bit below this) mentioned that he WANTS to make one, but has no documentation on the actual system. >calculators, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, (and a plethora of other systems) Those emulators are not hidden... they are pending. There is only so much one person. I'm interested in content more than files, and having a hard time keeping my site up to date with news as it is. I am most likely to add a C64, then an Apple II page since there is demand for them. If you'd like, I will add to the bottom that future pages will be added, but as far as I'm concerned, it only prompts more and more emails from people who want the things NOW. I can't cater to people individually in large numbers. >emulators. I'm also wondering how Console Consortium is dubbed a warez >group since it contained more respectable emulator authors than DC ever >did or will. Damaged Cybernetics doesn't have any emulators. Individual members do though. Note Virtual SuperMagicom, qNES, LandyNES, Aster (Not an emulator), NESiMAGE (Not an emulator), and SNES '97 are all affiliated with DC. The System 16 emulator was the only real CC emulator, but it was never affiliated. VCS2600 came out before it was affiliated with CC, so that doesn't count. Kyoto never came out =)... The source to SNES '97 is available to anyone who needs it. Its really the author's discretion. DC doesn't have any rights to our member's individual projects remember. When Haruki "joined" CC, he told me that he was just added because he was a #Emu frequenter on Fefnet. This might not be true, but it IS what he told me, since I had offered him the support of Damaged Cybernetics and he was to join. It was his choice though. >i.e. ShinobiZ (System16), Frogger (VCS2600, 5200), Haruki Ikeda, etc. >All whose emulators were *free*.. and the source of many of which is >available. A refreshing break from the money grubbing and whining of >The_Brain of DC. I would hardly insult TanDrUm's work when YoSHi himself >is the grand master of 3500 ops a sec. Actually, Mr. Snazz got 3500 ops a second on VeNES, and Y0SHi has been giving out all of the help he can to Landy, The Brain, Marat Fayzullan (and don't even try to gripe at him... he's done the emulation scene a world of good, and people expect him to cater to their every needs... he's also free to decide). Read the qNES web site... qNES is going at over 30,000 last time I checked.. but I'm not sure anymore... no specs have been released that aren't on his site. After finding out about VSMC, The Teacher offered his services to DC, so -- SNES '97 is from a DC member, as is its Linux port where the Mode 7 for ESNES and SNES '97 came from. Don't make it sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. I know perfectly well what CC released and what DC members released. DC is not a warez group, its an organization of independants... if you ever collected comics, compare to to Image and marvel... if you like computers, compare to to IBM and Mac... Mac had more control, IBM let people do as they wished. >On the non-relevant side, I would like to mention the fact that you look >like a fucking idiot, and if I looked as stupid as you (thank buddha i >don't) I would certainly not post pictures of my hideous form. In case you >are wondering what people have to say about you here is a sample: >(names removed to protect them from your serpentine tounge) Insulting one's appearance in a letter is very mature eh? >how did TZ go from a newsgroup pirater nobody liked to what ever the >fuck he is now? (a pirater that nobody likes?) TZ actually only has about 60 SNES ROMs and 7 NES ROMs =)... its the truth... my damned D: went on an adventure. On UseNet, I managed to get many people from spamming comp.emulators.misc, and took them to a better newsgroup. I posted some binaries, and after I saw that the group caught on, I withdrew. The reason that I am "what I am now" is that I sat down, saw that there were no pages that really covered the scene (and this was before Node 99), and applied my time for the benefit of all. And for your information, go to #Emu, and ask people if they like me. Demi doesn't really, and there are a few that might not, but many do, and its not for my page. I sit down and talk. #Emu is not a warezing channel as my automessage states (it even tells people to visit #EmuROMs if they want to solicit ROMs). >TZ's the one who thinks he dictates how the emulation scene is to >progress. If I am, I wouldn't post things on my site at the request of Tandrum, Y0SHi, and others that email me the information. I give credit where due. See the bottom of Versus... it has the name of the person (Scantify) who suggested the page. I put up the responses to the Console Cable incident. I'm not a close minded person, and thats what Archaic Ruins is about. The most unprejudiced look at the emulation scene as possible, and sometimes its hard to do this, but I try my best. >I hope you realize that catering to lamers with an out of date, biased, >and sadly incomplete page does not make you as much of a hotshot as you >seem to think you are. I'm catering to anyone who wants to see my page. My page is only out of date when it comes to Gameboy (VGB DOS v0.8.4) and the Arcade (Horribly out of date), and there are 2 good reasons: 1) Lack of time. I do have a life now (As opposed to when I lived in Maryland) 2) The sections aren't being updated till their new format. I sincerely hope that you email Sean Whalen at Node 99 and tell him how he is thinking he runs the emulation scene since he also gives an equal effort. While we are competition (Node 99 and AR), I still respect his dedication to the emulation scene, and realize that unlike myself, he lacks in site space, so his page is somewhat crippled. I'm doing the best that one person can do. This is the first email I've received complaining, and I find it without any grounds whatsoever. I have email so that the site can change and suit the users needs. I changed the format so that I could let users go to the actual homepages of the respective emulators so that they could see what the author himself intends them to as well as my site. My personal page as mentioned earlier is none of your concern. Its placed there for the sheer amusement. There is even a paragraph mocking the b&w pictures, as I myself think are quite ugly. Even if I was an ugly person (which I will say that I'm not, I'm average, and well... I was average with a shaved head a while back), it has absolutely nothing to do with my personality, and what I am doing on Archaic Ruins. There is a reason that I've moved my personal page from the front page to a sub page, its because more people want to see Archaic Ruins than a personal page. Many people who frequent are curious about me however, and I'd like to let them loosen up. I get emails from people praising my work, being completely polite, and acting as if I am a genious. I have never even attempted to code an emulator, dear God! I'm but 15 years old, (don't even mention Letoram's efforts -- that kid is quite sharp!) and I'm doing the best that I can. My personal page is there to show people that I'm not a God, and that I'm a down to earth person who has chosen to employ his time on his site. > - The Sheik >Neo Geo | PC Engine | PCFX >"All I know is that I know nothing" - Socrates >Hanashimashita. Your name made it to my site, and if you'd like, people can email you their thoughts. An attack on my site like this relates to the government, its intended to be something very good, and there are those people that because of all its shortcomings see it as complete evil, and something that cannot be improved. The government can never be turned into a right and honest operation, but with reason, it does more good than it does bad. Thanks for your time, I hope that I've cleared up what you wished to ask.
