B r e a k po i n tAuthor of Project UnReality
(interviewed by AtomJack)

AtomJack-Please state your name and occupation for the record

Breakpoint-My name is Michael Tedder. I am a Software Engineer for Bally Gaming located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

AtomJack-Welcome to the Kanned Goods Elite. Now, your N64 emulator, Project UnReality is quite a milestone in emulation. How does it feel to be probably the most respected programmer in emulation right now?

Breakpoint-Pretty good. :) I took the project for the challenge and to prove it could be done, not for the fame or publicity, however.

AtomJack-Emu News service has reported that an unknown programmer is trying get actual N64 controllers to work with a PC. If this turns out to be valid, will you add support for the controllers?

Breakpoint-Absolutely. I also have plans to implement the Console Cable as well.

AtomJack-Has the big N contacted you regarding Project UnReality? If so, what are their demands/requests/concerns?

Breakpoint-No, Nintendo has never contacted me.

AtomJack-Any words for Nintendo?

Breakpoint-The N64 is an awesome system. Their team of engineers as well as SGI created the N64 with a well thought-out plan done before design. I hope they continue their great work and I look forward to seeing what's next.

AtomJack-Do you do alot of gaming on the side while you're not the envy of most?

Breakpoint-I wouldn't say "alot", but yes, I do sometimes. :)

AtomJack-What do you think the best game out there right now is?

Breakpoint-Final Fantasy 7.

AtomJack-What's better, Coke or Pepsi?

Breakpoint-Pepsi, by far.

AtomJack-Is the N64 console your favorite, or did you pick it because it poses such a challenge?

Breakpoint-The N64 is my favorite console. As I said earlier, I also took the project for it's challenge.

AtomJack-What is your favorite emulator out there right now, and why?

Breakpoint-I'd have to say NESticle. I really enjoy alot of NES games, so NESticle does a great job in bringing back the nostalgia.

AtomJack-How long do you figure until Project UnReality will emulate all aspects of the N64 (game support, processor, controllers, etc...)?

Breakpoint-I'd like to see it working well near the end of this year, perhaps September or October.

AtomJack-Words of wisdom?

Breakpoint-I wish the best of luck to all the emulator authors out there. I know what they go through, and it's tough to do something for the fun of it and have to put up with all the harassing emails. :)

AtomJack-Thanks, Breakpoint. We're all drooling over v.03a. Congrats with your milestones and thanks for Project UnReality!

Breakpoint-Thanks for the interview!
