What is an emulator? An emulator is a piece of software that makes your
computer act as a different computer. This can be used for many purposes.
From Consoles (NES, etc.) to Calculators (TI-8x, etc.) to other computer
systems, emulators can run software designed to run on other systems. This
can be used as a convieniece, or to combat nostalgia.
Note: while emulators by themselves are perfectly legal, what you do with
them can affect their legality. Programs designed to run on other systems
(especially the consoles) are usually copyrighted and cannot be legally
downloaded off the internet. These are called ROMs. Do NOT ask us for
ROMs. You will be posted on a lamer board.
